Happy Plant started as a personal challenge: learn to build iOS apps, and fix one constant problem at home. We kept forgetting to water the plants. D’oh!

The plants kept dying
Mike kept forgetting to water. His girlfriend was not amused. Watering wasn’t hard. It was just boring, and boring things get forgotten.
Make boring fun
A reminder app sounded dull, even to us. So we gave plants names, selfies, streaks and attitude, and suddenly watering became the fun part of the day.
Life changers
Apple featured us as an app that helps people stay organized at home. That’s when it clicked: our mission is turning boring activities into fun, life changers.

From seed to jungle
2016
The seed
Mike keeps killing plants. His girlfriend is not amused. Mike and Vitor decide to learn iOS development the hard way, by shipping something.
2017
The sprout
Happy Plant launches on the App Store. Watering becomes a game with streaks, selfies and plants that talk back.
2018
The bloom
Featured by Apple in 20+ countries. We frame the screenshots. Obviously.
2019
The jungle
100K+ downloads. Streaks hit four digits: Pinky is on day 1,231 and counting. Somewhere in there, Mike marries the girlfriend. The plants attend.
2026
The comeback YOU ARE HERE
Back in the garden: iCloud sync, plant-sitter mode, and a fresh coat of paint. Still simple. On purpose.
